MEW F1 2019 League Races [MEWRL]

Do you normally play in that view? I think that could be your biggest problem

The view is the very least of my problems, to be honest

No, I drive with the T-cam view (whatever it’s called - the one from the air intake above the drivers head.) I used the chase camera view for a while just to see what the video streams would look like with more moving bits on the screen at the same time. I switched back to my normal driving view a little later. Didn’t make much of a difference to my performance though

Haha! Just teasing you! The disconnect between the camera and the car is what kills that view for me, personally.

I switch between T-cam for new tracks and cockpit for the well known tracks. The cockpit was never an option with a controller, but the wheel makes it easier and sometimes even faster in cockpit view. Its like I have a better feel for when I lose control of the car.

Different view, same end result!

So glad its not just me - I could almost never take that corner flatout

I did some Spa time trials last week Sunday and it went really well. Haven’t driven on Monza at all. Don’t even know what the track looks like.

But looking forward to the racing. I used to really dislike multiplayer games but I love these league races. Thanks guys.

Okay, so I think I was way too ambitious with my multistreaming plan. Tested again just now, and crashed my system. Too many things running at the same time, I can’t be sure. Going to scrub the multistream idea for tonight, and just stream to my Mixer channel. If anyone does see this, have a little look if you can and let me know what it looks and sounds like.

I think @oltman will probably stream to his YouTube channel as well - Maybe drop a link in here too? Don’t know if @Solitude or @DieGrootHammer will be streaming, but we’ll all be in the MEW Discord on Race Radio if you want to pop in to say hello.

Scratch the plan too. Crap on a stick.

@GregRedd you can view previous GP results on the league’s Standing page, and then the second tab. Even shows fastest laps.

Gents, thank you for the fun times! Great fun and good laughs! Looking forward to season 2!

And special mention to our cheerleaders!

We needed this BEFORE the race!

Second the huge thanks to all 3 of you for making Season 1 so much fun. Under normal circumstances, being lapped twice by you, and spending most of the season at the back of field would be depressingly irritating, but it hasn’t been in the slightest. Thanks to you guys, and to all the MEWbies who popped on to cheer us on.

@oltman - those are the screens I’ve been using in the highlights videos, so I’ve got them all stored somewhere. The problem with them in game now is that they’re all a bit wrong.

After we briefly lost Soli’s league membership card, I changed his positions in the first two races to try get his points back. That’s when the season standings went haywire. Can’t do anything about the standings now, and I don’t want to try messing around with the results from tonight’s races anymore for fear of making it even worse, but I will be able to sort the scores out manually.

We’ll just have to RP it a bit and consider Soli’s demotion from P3 to P4 as a penalty for drinking while driving (and not sharing!) :grinning:

Thank you all for the first season. Was really fun to do these races each week. Sorry I lost my cool with the Spa race. I am right on the edge of being consistent enough to drive without assists, but not on all tracks it seems. I will put in the practice to get better and next season try again without assist, WITHOUT getting that angry.

And thank you @GregRedd for organizing this league!

My whole Friday is dedicated to learnign better driving techniques. First up is getting better with manual gearing. Then no ABS brakes. And finally no traction control. I will be doing this on F1 and some GT cars in Assetto Corsa.

In the longer run I will be studying how to set up my cars properly. At the moment I am just using the default setups which is fine, but if I ever want to be a better driver I need to understand how these setups change the car’s handling, and how to apply it for different tracks and cars.

@Solitude
Soli, if it’s not too late already, remember to download and send me your video highlights.

Oh crikey, I’ll quickly do that. You’ll have the links in about half an hour.

No stress. Last thing on your mind I’m sure :grinning:

Bon voyage and safe travels! :airplane:

Final Standings for Season 1 - well done guys!

Putting together the plan for Season 2: The Fly-Aways. Will be the final 7 GPs in this years real world season. But we’ll give it a break for a week or two before we start that one. That also gives everyone a chance to invite any non-MEW members they know, who may want a bit of extra casual racing time, to join the league. You’re all League Admins, so you should be able to send Invites and Approve them too.

@DieGrootHammer - Going to try do the race highlights videos tomorrow afternoon, so there’s still time until then if you want me to include yours.

CHAMP! Well done @GregRedd for running this thing! Like a PRO!

Congrats to @DieGrootHammer for Season 1 champ! Well deserved! I could not capitalise on your 2 rounds of going EPIC realism, but still, excellent driving!
