MEW F1 2019 League Races [MEWRL]

I spent some time last night to get my multiplayer car looking pretty. I also changed my number from 22 to just 2. I think it will make a difference and my times will certainly improve!

Haha I still want to change my number.

I changed my brake pedal last night. Have been using the clutch pedal as the break pedal but I realised my braking is the biggest problem when it comes to my driving. So I’m using the brake pedal for braking now.

It’s going to take a while to get used to but can already see improvements.

Do you use your left foot for braking? I do and nearly had an accident when trying it in my real car

Haha yeah I use my left foot. That’s the biggest reason why I moved the break to the clutch because the other two pedals are so close together.

Three pedals, sim rigs, wheel stands, new race numbers, stylish liveries… Y’all getting so fancy up in here. Next thing you’ll be hiring a IRL Jeff to coach you as you drive. Meanwhile I’m here with my 7-year old, all plastic, bolt to the table, more toy than tool wheel waiting for the lights to go out so I can beat you all where it matters - on the virtual track.*

Decision time on the last two races of our season gents:

  • Belgian GP tomorrow, Italian GP next Tuesday
  • Belgian & Italian GP double-header next Tuesday

Did anyone actual get a practice race done last night? How did it go?

* I joke though. I still would be trundling around the back of the field, even if I had the best wheel and pedal set and sim rig that money can buy.

@DieGrootHammer and I were both online last night. He helped me with my brake settings. We didn’t do any racing though. He was also experiencing problems when trying to create a lobby.

Haven’t done it yet - no time :upside_down_face:

Only got clip from yourself (unless I missed the others, but don’t think so) and i just downloaded it now. Got get the other bits sorted and then mash them all together. Hoping to get to it today still, but worst case it’ll be done by tomorrow latest.

Sorry, I forgot about sending the highlights video. If it’s not too late then I’ll send mine tonight.

You should watch @oltman’s videos. I watched our last two races on there. I want to do the same thing at some point. Just haven’t really done any research on how to do it.

You can record using OBS.

How do you stream the games @oltman?

I use OBS to stream to YouTube and record other gameplay. I even set up a reply so that I can save the last minute’s worth of recording as a highlight.

I want to start a new channel though. My personal one has too much other rubbish in. I will share the link once it is set up.

As @czc said, you can use OBS to record your gameplay and then upload to YouTube afterwards. Big advantage of doing it that way is you’re able to edit the video before uploading, or just keeping the video for yourself to review. You could also use something like the Nvidia Shadowplay/AMD Relive feature through your graphics card, or even the Windows GameBar tool (which is hugely improved in its recent update) in much the same way - record your game play for later editing and/or uploading.

If you want to stream your play live, then OBS is probably your best option (there are other tools, but OBS is reliable, has low impact on resources, and is free!). It also allows you to stream to a wide range of services - Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, DLive included. I’m pretty sure @oltman mentioned that this is how he’s been streaming to his YT channel.

Here’s a nifty (a quick!) 5 step guide to setting up OBS to stream to YouTube, but the principle is much the same regardless of which service you want to stream to:

  1. Find your Stream Key code on your streaming account.
  2. Select your service and enter your Stream Key in OBS.
  3. Set your broadcast settings.
  4. Set up your broadcast screen and game.
  5. Start streaming.

I also want to stream our races on Tuesday, but I’m going to try going “next level” because I want to try a multi-streaming service that allows you to stream to more than one streaming site simultaneously. I want to see if it’s possible to stream to YouTube, Twitch and Mixer all at the same time, something @SIGSTART and I have been curious about for a while now. Don’t know if it’s possible without cost, but I’m going to research it over the weekend and then see what I can do on Tuesday.

Right, I’m giving up for the day. I eventually managed to get the Race 3 - Hungarian GP Highlights video done. My machine struggled with it for some reason. Lots of freezes, crashes, etc. Only thing different to the previous 2 is that I managed to figure out how to keep Soli’s wide-screen video correctly in proportion, but that changed the resolution for the whole video, so I had to change the overlay graphics and stuff. Eventually got the project file completed, and now it’s frozen again in the encoding stage. Very irritating. I try again tomorrow to get it rendered.

I need a new computer with all the cores and all the RAMs. :expressionless:
