So the update is done. Haven’t noticed anything new yet although the game does seem smoother.
So I got a message from some guy to come help defend his Frigate, did that and then went to meet him. Next thing he gives me the Frigate. Now I have this giant ship I don’t know what to do with.
I just left it there for now. My mission I’m trying to do is get some guy to manage my computer terminal thing. So I’m looking around on space stations to hire someone.
There was also one part where it asked me if I wanted to continue following the clues and encrypted messages and stuff or if I wanted to do some free roaming. I chose the free roaming but I hope I can get back to the cryptic messages again later. But for now it’s actually good that I can free roam as I set up base properly now and not ‘living off the land’ chasing those cryptic clues.

Oh! I remember seeing that you can build submersible rooms. I think that’s part of the update. Now I need to find that water planet again…
Ok so I’ve been playing this for a couple of days now, I’m finding that I’m getting a bit tired of gathering stuff over and over again. I think I’m going to take a break from it for a bit, not uninstall, just a break.
I’m feeling like a bit of Elite Dangerous for a bit…
Well, the bug has bitten me again. I got NMS about 2 or 3 weeks ago during the Xbox sale despite having it on PC. The game after NEXT was great, but my PC always struggled to run it. But now on Xbox, it is glorious. I’ve spent about 30 hours in the game and absolutely loving it. Is there anyone else playing it?
Yup. Was just as surprised to find it. What’s also cool is each of those ‘panes’ move, as if like a old CRT TV showing those lines and static. Very cool. The planet is a bugger though with it wanting to kill you any chance it gets. Beauty of the visuals of the planet ‘complimented’ with the harshness of it. The first time I found this planet I was immediately attacked by sentinels and I just hit my ship and blasted out of there. Finally got the courage (and resources) to go back to it to claim it.
There is also a planet made of hexigons, nothing really of use on it though and i believe it only had like two species of plant and one species of animal, which are hexigon bushes and trees, and a hexigon jellyfish that floats in the air. If i find it again i will get a screenshot
I’m going to log in, see all the new base stuff I can build and immediately spend hours hunting salvaged tech to unlock it all. It’s gonna be great. I’m ready.
