they already do, the Not to be named water distributor is not far from us and they receive 2-3 links a week.
90 second showers, nuh uh!
shower every second day then you can do a 180
yep that is the fun part - not easy at all
At least we in a family of 3, now have the laungry to 1 load a week - which we hand wash in a tub of shower water, then only rinse in the washing mashine.
We use waterless handsanitiser for hand washing - not water. My showering method is turn taps on, dash in get wet. Close taps, soap and wash hair, turn taps on and rinse whilst water heats up.
I wont lie - shaving legs are a bitch so I am looking at waxing legs - cos people look at me funny with long leg hair.
between my brother and I in dec we got our usage to 40L per day for the two of us. . . .
I am concerned about hygiene there are going tobe serious medical problems if that goes out the window
meh who cares what hey think , go bush go
That’s impressive. I’ve heard some crazy stories from people fighting at virgin active to some people saying the water crisis is a myth and Cape Town can’t afford to run out of water.
I’m pledging to deliver water through gift of the givers and I hope it helps.
I spent roughly R1500 for 3 weeks of water and that was just me. I cannot do this uber saving bullshit, not when I’m working and studying and whatnot. Needs my lotta water
my biggest worry is those trucks bringing water for the shelters and so on, are gonna get hijacked if they advertise that they are coming down.
Not too serious from not washing yourself. Biggest issue we had in Vryheid was young children with diarrhoea from drinking dirty water and bottles not being sterilised properly.
Mine too, I just don’t know how much it would help in the end
3 or 4 got hijacked here during the 3 weeks, they had to get private security
So gift of the givers brought a truck full of 5l water bottles to Vryheid Hospital early in 2016 when the problems started. Hospital staff took all the water home
That is why I worry about the water being brought in.
Meh
I still think it’s right to try
Yes of course. You’re giving water. Whether it gets stolen along the way doesn’t negate that.
I agree, I think water at this point will reach their destinations. I know all the water and stuff we donated towards Knysna got there safely.
So we’re all set for Mad Max style shenanigans - trucking around with security vehicles fighting off water pirates.
Don’t they also have shortages now?
