urgh… I just do not understand why you need to perform a credit check/report in order to rent a property.

its very necessary to check this to ensure ppl can actually pay the rent because eviction is not a simple a process as it seems (especially if there are kids in the household)

Hmm… but surely the backdated statements and payslips should suffice and prove as a “track record” per say
I guess it’s just the process and due diligence, just seems a bit much.

Has anyone here who lives in a complex governed by a Body Corporate had a Zoom meeting for the AGM for their complex?
because some of the ppl in my complex are just driving me insane. They have known for 2 weeks the AGM was going to be held online tonight now they have issues with “Oh i dont know how to use Zoom” or “i dont have internet”

Yeah, that’s just typical body corporate shenanigans.
That excuse of “Oh i don’t know how to use Zoom” or is just plain laziness and ridiculous, do you know how to click/tap on a link?!

I can understand ‘no internet’, but I have not encountered one person who hasn’t been able to at least log into a meeting. As much as I hate the company, they’ve got their UI/UX down.

i know, i have also offered ppl access to my wifi. Ppl are just lazy…
There will also never be a 100% attendance for these things.

It’s never been easier to join virtual meeting spaces, the only easier way would be if they all integrated so you could just have one space from any preferred tool.
Honestly, they’re almost all free for some form or another and you can join from just about any device!

the only big ask for our meeting is, is that ppl have to change their zoom name to their surname and unit number so that the managing agent can keep track…
I have agreed to be a trustee for the next year and honestly this complex whatsapp group we have is driving me insane

Yeah, I removed myself from such groups as the politics, bitchiness, shenanigans, gossip, etc just pisses me off.
Good luck though, it’s not an easy task.

the bitchiness…is the absolute worst…
the one lady is constantly complaining about noise, then its a neighbours dog who has been barking for 2 hours and then why are ppl still doing renovation after 5pm blah blah blah.
But the group is needed though…and as im a trustee i have to be on it.
