Has anyone else had an absolutely horrid experience with Takealot returns? A friend and I are suffering through red tape and call centre scripts to resolve a Takealot mistake, and we’re pulling out hair at the moment!

Not even once, I’ve had no issues with them and returns thusfar.

You see, when we receive the incorrect item, I even told my friend not to worry, Takealot has great returns service. I hate being proven wrong! xD

That is so weird, Ive taken stuff back to them no issues, I just dropped it off at their pickup point and had the replacement a few days later

I’ve had to return a couple of things over the years and have had great experiences with Takealot. Sometimes I pay a little extra by buying from them just to have the piece of mind that when it comes to returns they are so good.

So that’s really disappointing that you are having trouble with their returns.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It looks like we just had a perfect storm of bad service luck.

We ordered a couple of TP-link Deco pucks, as it was on special. The package was delivered in Pta the next day, but it contained a plastic sellotape dispenser, worth about R4. Contacted Takealot, was asked to take photos of the dispenser and waybill and packaging, which is fair.

Then we were asked to ship the R4 dispenser back. When Takealot receives it, they’ll start processing our order again.

  1. Ship a R4 dispenser back using our own R200? That’s not on, is it?
  2. Surely they can organize a replacement order while the negotiations regarding The One Dispenser’s ownership and location is ongoing?
  3. When said replacement is delivered, we’ll gladly hand The One Dispenser to the courier, if Takealot sends us a waybill. That they paid for.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable…

Yeah that doesn’t sound right. I received a wrong order before and they just sent someone to come pick it up. Didn’t cost anything.

Exactly that - before their pickup points, the courier would collect from you no questions asked

I mean basically if they want the item, they need to come fetch it…or else you just gonna keep it. you already were nice by showing that they added stuff to your order.
