We’re looking for a full stack developer at our Centurion offices if anyone is interested or knows someone interested, please let me know.
Full stack of what?
Mostly front-end tech, design and dev languages, database, API, etc.
If I had a proper work visa, and could do front-end, I’d be all over this
Without even first checking if they play hockey in Centurion?
Is it that difficult to apply for citizenship?
I don’t mind driving for hockey. I already have a 30-40 minute drive where I am. There are teams in Joburg and Pretoria.
I can’t change my status within the country I even fall into critical skills, but I can’t even border hop to get it done from what I can gather. And nope, not going back to Canada to sort it out…
So what you need to apply for SA citizenship in Canada? Cant it be done form the Canadian embassy here?
I know we have a global footprint with branches all over the world, don’t think in Canada, but is it a problem that doesn’t even warrant investigation perhaps?
Nope, every home affairs officer I’ve spoken with says you have to go to your home country, whether it is to apply for a work visa, citizenship, whatever… If I was on a work visa, after 5 years I could apply for citizenship, but… volunteer visas count for nothing…
I’ve looked into many options. Last year I was even looking to immigrate to Europe. I’ve asked if I can go stay in Swaziland for a few months, and get it sorted out there. Nope…
I’m not opposed to going somewhere else to work, and maybe applying for citizenship, either wherever I end up, or for back here…
The only thing I found that could work is I met a guy who has major connections, and for the right price, I could get it all sorted, but I am most certainly not going that route. That could end up with them asking me for a ‘favour’, or worse… However, if there is a legitimate legal loophole to let me change my status in the country, I wouldn’t be opposed to that.
I wonder if I could use the 'rona as an excuse right now…
