@Beo Where did you place the hooks on the curtain tape?

I prefer using those they play a big role in getting the lengths right

on the middle string on the tape.

the height is about 21cm from the floor, but as @Entity shows, the 218cm length seems to be standard, same as mine.

I use those as well but the plastic keeps breaking.

Thanks, it looks nice, and your curtains reach to the floor?

If the do then you must have a different ceiling height. Cos even if I set mine like that it would still be short. Thanks for sharing though, I might do that to get the pleating effect.

We have some swallows building a nest just outside our patio doors and wondering if I just deter them or let them continue. I know it’s a mess and will continue being messy but they’re welcomed guests, it’s nice to have a touch of nature around too.

We should feel privileged that they chose us

Got some paintings to put up, wondering what the best approach would be?

I thought of just resting them on some hilties or masonry nails, or do you reckon it more viable to put a wire behind the painting? My only reservation there is then it doesn’t sit flush against the wall.

Why would that be an issue though?

Okay cool, thought it might be a bigger gap and therefor look as though it’s angled downward.

You would probably get more lean/tilt with a longer/looser string/wire.

Does anyone have experience or know how much it costs to get new kitchen cupboards installed? Or even maybe know of some online calculator sites?

Last time I had my kitchen done, 10+ years ago it was about 40k (if memory server)

It all depends on kitchen size, what wood finish, counter tops, even handles you want. Then there’s oven/hob, extractor, basin, taps…etc. I would suggest getting someone to come give you a free quote.

Edit: I see you can even get prefab DIY cupboards now: https://www.builders.co.za/Kitchen/Kitchen-Cupboards/c/Kitchen%20Cupboards

Thanks. Yeah I don’t want to do it myself so I’m just thinking of how much I’d need to save to get it done.

We had a kitchen in Zimbali Estate replaced last year for a client. Ran up a bill of close to R1mil! But you can get away with a very nice kitchen for a middle sized home for a lot less, waaay less. Its really hard to say how long your piece of string is

Bought my wife a painting for Xmas and put it up in our room. Put another in the passage which is not featured here. But I think this one looks really great in the room.

Question… Which one do you paint first? The wall or the skirting?
