Try Tower Dominion on Steam. It’s a great mix of tower defence and roguelike. It’s really cheap as well. Oh, and it has a demo you can try out first. The demo sealed the deal for me. Any progress in the demo transfers to the full game.
Pretty sure we had this conversation once before but, I would highly recommend “X-Morph Defense”, probably my favorite TD, it also has 2 player co-op.
I finished both Silent Hill f and Octopath Traveller 2 yesterday. Started playing Clive Barker’s Undying on PC (bought it on GoG for like R27). I played it back in high school but could never finish it. I struggled a bit to get it to run right, but I got it in a good spot and enjoying it now. A remake (or even Nightdive remaster) of this game would be amazing.
Silksong!
I’m pretty close to finishing Act 2, I think. Still many secrets and areas to discover. I’m not usually one to spend hours on a boss fight, and often it’s better to go elsewhere and come back when you’re stronger and have unlocked more upgrades, but the fight was a lot of fun despite me raging a fair bit at it. Very satisfying when I finally beat it though. The fight in question is First Sinner
Also really enjoying piecing together the lore about the kingdom of Pharloom. The environments and items start putting together an intriguing and tragic tale.
Solo: Borderlands 4, loving it.
With friends: Diable 4 Season 10
Undying is a great game! Still remember playing it during a holiday. Cant believe its over 20 years old now…
Busy going through Stalker 2 again, finished it end of last year, so want to see what they’ve added and modified in the last couple of months.
Also got hold of Balatro, addictive game.
I will try it this weekend.
I think I tried it. I think I was busy with other longer games at the time and didn’t want to be distracted, so only tried a couple of levels of it. Can’t remember my thoughts on it, but I’ll try it again this weekend since I’m not doing anything else.
Ok, tried X-Morph Defense, but not for me. It relies too much on the player interaction instead of letting the towers do the work. I can see why people would like the game, but it is not really what I’m looking for in a tower defense game.
Tower Dominion is a bit weird for me. Maybe it is the “rogue-like” part of it since I’m not really familiar with that, but doesn’t seem to be my cup of tea (especially since I don’t even drink tea).
That said, I did like playing through all the Defense Grids again and would have liked a third game in the series. I’ll maybe do some Orcs Must Die next weekend and then after that, I’ll start up a longer game again that should take me a couple of months.
Hades 2, probably my game of the year.
Street Fighter 6, i am very bad at fighting games, but the “story mode” of the game looked so cool that i caved and bought it on the recent steam special. Very fun so far, although i am dreading the later story stages when the game gets harder, but i will cross that bridge when I get there.
Rematch, so i joined that discord community as that is the only way i am able to get consistent 5v5 matches. Seems i make a decent goalie, and am therefore highly valued as it seems there are only like 5 people on the server who actually likes being goalie XD
Metroid Prime Remastered
Silent Hill f (for the Spooktober spirit)
Been trying random games from my library to see what sticks.
Here are the games that I’ve tried:
- Broken Pieces - Not for me, but pushed through until I got stuck and then left it.
- The Amazing Spiderman - Okish, but I think they’re using the same broken engine that they used back in Prototype 1 & 2 because the game crashes a lot.
- Tekken 7 - Bunch of nonsense. Granted, I’m not too much into fighting games like this, I haven’t played any of the other Tekken games and I mostly play through the game for the story.
- Phantom Doctrine - Only briefly started this and played the tutorial and while I’m not too big on games set in older eras like this or WW2, I do like the XCom-style turn-based games, so I’ll give it a proper try sometime.
PC
Max Payne
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
Shadow Gambit or Shadow Tactics (still deciding which one to properly try)
PS5
Metaphor ReFantazio (very casual NG+)
Silent Hill 2
Xbox
Ninja Gaiden 4 (from tomorrow)
Shadow Gambit is way more creative and has a slightly more offbeat tone than tactics. It also introduces some mechanical QoL improvements.
Tactics is still an incredible game and nails that feudal Japan vibe. I’d recommend starting with this one.
Yeah I played the first mission of Shadow Tactics and really like it, but I’m coming off a slight AC Shadows addiction where I’ve put like 40 hours in the last week or two so I’m a bit over Japan right now. ![]()
Funny that I’m playing Black Flag which is also pirates but I really like the vibe of Shadow Gambit. Supernatural Pirates is 100% up my alley (I’m getting a slight Monkey Island vibe).
Eventually if I play through one I will probably play the other as well (will try Desperados 3 too), just a matter of which one is first.
I’m busy with the opening level of Gambit; then I’ll pick one.
Started Ninja Gaiden 4. Platinum and Team Ninja cooked!!! Ninja Gaiden is back.
I’ve fallen into the BALL x PIT… uhh… pit. It scratches that Roguelike itch with a ball-breaking and town building spin. It really is very, very addictive. Like Balatro addictive. I’m already 16 hours into the game and just beat the 6th level and unlocked 12 characters.
PC
The Outer Worlds 2
Ninja Gaiden 4
Max Payne 2
Xbox
The Outer Worlds 2
AC Shadows
Switch
Pokemon Shield
PS5
The Crew Motorfest
SIlent Hill 2
Metaphor ReFantazio
Mostly its going to be Outer Worlds 2 and some Ninja Gaiden 4 but I play Metaphor every sunday and AC Shadows I do the weekly stuff and mess around.
Renting Outer Worlds 2 for a month from Game Pass Ultimate. Still cheaper than buying it.
Space Marine 2 with a friend on the weekends. D4 got stale for us, as it always does after 2 weeks into a new season.
Been playing Clair 33.
I finished Ninja Gaiden 4 twice (once on Hero and once on Normal) and now I’m playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma with a Sigma Black mod. Its really challenging and the platforming especially can get frustrating, but I’m enjoying it.
