Thanks for the valheim - I was looking at it, but not a fan of these survival games.
I have too many platforms now…
PC
Nioh 2
Yakuza Like a Dragon
3DS
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Switch
Dragonball FighterZ
Series S
Torchlight III
Forza Horizon 4
Destiny 2
PS4
Bloodborne
#FML
Trying to keep it to one main game per platform but the Series S is still new so I’m gonna jump around a bit.
If anyone sets up a PVE valheim server in South Africa, please let me know. The game is great with friends but unfortunately it is not very lag friendly. I started playing with friends in the UK and soon gave up on that, sadly.
I am about to set one up as I just discovered the game. Have been playing with just an online normal game but this needs a persistent server!
I am just about done with my 100% playthrough of Bloodborne, but going to jump into the DLC before moving fighting the last boss so it doesn’t progress to NG+ and then get the Platinum trophy.
Other than that, I now have Elite Dangerous on all platforms, primarily on Xbox and PlayStation so i have jumped back into that.
Wolcen PC - up to act 3 now. decent hack & slash rpg.
I finished Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS as well as the story content for Destiny 2 that I had not previously played.
Started up Gears 5 on the Series S and I’m enjoying it quite a bit. Solid shooting and very pretty graphics.
Elite Dangerous VR made me in the mood for some space dogfighting in VR, so I grabbed Star Wars Squadrons that’s still on sale on Epic. It felt, well, EPIC being in a Tie Fighter and X-Wing and speeding around huge starships in VR! It really feels like you’re sitting inside those ships and controller them…
Ok, so I decided to get back to Elite Dangerous this morning. After fiddling with the super sampling and HMD quality settings in the game, I got an absolutely crisp image. I just thought the game had loads of aliasing issues, as enabling all kinds of AA in the game never yielded a crisp, jaggy-free experience in VR. But wow, SS at 1.0 and HMD quality at 1.5 made it SUPER crisp and the game still runs smoothly on my aging GTX1080. So I spent some time salvaging space junk, visiting stations, scooping fuel from stars and plotting a course for a far-away star system as part of my “Galaxy Explorer” quest. I haven’t felt 2 hours disappear so quickly in recent years! This game truly is a VR showcase of note.
I finished Torchlight III and it was fun. Next up:
Nioh 2 - PC
Gears 5: Hivebusters - Series X
You make me green with envy.
But on a serious note, I’m still in awe of the spectacle of the game. It’s just jaw-droppingly beautiful, even if it is 6 years old (obviously the engine has had updates).
Dude, I’ll seriously make a plan to get you over to my place some time to experience it. Once the controls (using the XBOX One controller) clicked with me this morning and I could intuitively navigate around the hordes of menus and easily control the ship, I instantly fell in love. I’m sure a full HOTAS adds to the experience, but seeing as I only have a flight stick and the gamepad promotes more of a “pick up and play” style, I can put the headset on, boot up the game, grab the controller and be inside my ship within a minute. That’s what appeals to me - the convenience of it all.
Finished Gears 5 and Hivebusters and really enjoyed it. Also finished State of Decay 2 Legacy quest.
Current list that I’m actually actively playing:
PC
Nioh 2
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
(Play both of these only on Sunday for now)
Series S
Wasteland 3
State of Decay 2
Forza Horizon 4
Switch
Dragon Quest XI - 2D mode (30 minutes or so in bed every night)
Mostly focusing on the Series S at the moment.
Valheim, Valheim Valheim, ACC, Valheim…
Assassin’s Creed Valheim?
Hehe, close. Assetto Corsa Competizione
I started a new character in Nioh 2, I have no control over what will come of this or where I will end up…
Still playing Elite Dangerous VR. Bought my first ship after the starter ship! Got myself a Hauler, but made the mistake of swapping out my shields for more cargo space. Now every time I jump to a star, my ship overheats and the cargo bays malfunction, which negates the benefit of actually having more cargo.
Love it!
I do! I played for 2.5 hours this morning and the time literally just flew by. When viewing the in-dash clock, I kept forgetting that it displays in UTC and not GMT+2. When I realised it was 07:01 and my daily standup had begun, I was shocked as it felt like I was playing for 20 minutes or so.
