What's for dinner

Nah, I wish I knew how to make em. A local deli makes em and they’re just amazing.

Now I can make lovely bechemel white sauce and cheese sauce but one thing I can never seem to get right is the colouring if my cheese sauces. The consistency is there but it’s still white or pale. How do these people make these bright yellow cheese sauces without having to add a kg of kaas?

It depends on the cheese you use. Mine is always just off white since I use white cheddar. I prefer using mature cheddar for the stronger taste - I don’t care what colour it is as long as it is good - add a bit of garlic salt to it - its awesome that way -garlic cheese

My cheat when making pasta is to add some turmeric, just the tip of the teaspoon is enough, to give the pasta that slightly yellowish colour. Maybe that could work for bechemel.

Very much the same.

Also true.

Hmm… that’s a good point.

I normally use a mixture of mature cheddar and white cheddar in both the cheese sauce that would go into the macaroni and on top for grilling, to perfect my mac’n’cheese.

Im gonna make this recipe:

We love the taste of buttermilk waffles and I use it in flapjacks as well. Makes it a sweet/salty effect.

They came out good, just not as crispy. Will see if they crisp up in the toaster.

We use them savory and sweet since these are not sweet at all. And we used lowfat buttermilk

Toast a waffle? D:

From that recipe, you’ll want to separate your eggs. Put the yolks in when it asks, but when you’re otherwise done the batter, beat the egg whites until they form peaks, then gently fold them into the batter (don’t mix). I’m too tired and short on time to find a better recipe for you, but technique counts for a lot.

Will def do that next time.

We always toast our waffles to warm them up - easier than sticking them in the oven :stuck_out_tongue:
They definitely were good, but I am still looking for the lost recipe - that one was just a bit nicer than this one.
