Urgh… Not sure I am ready for more Dirt Rally. Still bummed I could not finish Poland…

Most definitely, in VR it’s 90fps minimum or bust. If it drops below 90 things start getting a bit queezy and headachey. It’s a shame because this game looks downright amazing at times.

So I made up all my lost time and ended stage 4 a few tenths behind aldyr, then I crashed in every sector on stage 5, punctured a tire and rage quit. GG @aldyr

Hahaha, I know the feeling. I pushed through 2 spins, then 3 spins, then 1 minor cock up, in the next 3 stages. So I hope, you didn’t bin it completely, cos lawd knows, nothing went right for me from stage 4 to 6.
This is the brutal nature of rally, you’re playing your own mind games. Don’t give up!

After repairing, I ran into something after the finish line and got another puncture, no more spares, 1 more stage before service area.

I have to say, I absolutely loved this location, New Zealand has some very flowing 3rd gear bends. It’s therapeutic flicking the car from one turn into the next. And the views are gorgeous too

The only time I see any of the views is when I drive too close to them (off track)…
I think I could have done better since I got a much better feel for the car after a few stages. Lancia for the win!

Tried this out now since the update completed. It feels very different from Dirt Rally 1.

I think, in addition to the obvious improvements/changes to the handling model for the same car in DR versus DR2, the big changes that would impact how you drive in DR2 would be things like more realistic tyre and surface degradation. And that your tyre choice (Hard/Medium/Soft) does seem to make a difference depending on the length of the stages you are doing and the distance you’re driving between service stops.

Somehow I got a DNF for the first race. All I did was alttab out!
Maybe only do that if it’s windowed borderless mode.
