One Piece

Netflix | 31 August

In a seafaring world, a young pirate captain sets out with his crew to attain the title of Pirate King and to discover the mythical treasure: the One Piece.

Here’s a first look at the live action adaptation of the most popular manga in history, written by Eiichiro Oda. ONE PIECE sets sail on August 31st only on Netflix.

I’m not sure about this… I’ll watch it I’m sure, but I’m no manga man. Those who are weren’t particularly impressed by the last live action manga adaptation that Netflix did - Cowboy Bebop. Again, I didn’t think that show was too bad when viewed as a standalone sci-fi episodic. It definitely could have had a second season. Oda-San is credited as an Executive Producer and allegedly was personally involved in the cast selections, so let’s see.

Maybe all 235 episodes can be watched before the live action stuff starts at the end of August and I too can become a One Piece fan?
